Sylvan Street Garden Mission Statement:
-to offer a counterbalance to the difficulties of living in an urban district with little or no access to foods needed to maintain a healthy diet
-to re-green an urban community space
-to provide a healthy, safe, nature-based recreational opportunity
-to unite the community with a common goal of abundance, health and sustainability
The Sylvan Street Garden is maintained by EAT (Eastside Agricultural Team). EAT is responsible for watering plants daily, organizing the garden's hours of operation, corresponding with garden members about their needs, and acting as a liaison to the city.
The garden was founded in May, 2008, and we are hoping that involvement will continue to grow and add fresh vegetables and perspectives to the neighborhood.
If you have any questions or would like to donate services or supplies, please use our contact form to get in touch.
Happy Gardening!
